No point in a relationship exists in which a couple will know that their marriage will last forever. In fact, some individuals who have been married a short time and others who have been married for decades could both feel the need to divorce. Such decisions depend wholly on the particular circumstances of individual cases, and New York residents of any age may decide that the time is right to move on from an unhappy relationship.
Recently, musician Natalie Maines made such a decision as she filed for divorce from husband and actor Adrian Pasdar. The couple have been married 17 years, and reports indicated that Maines has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her choosing to end the marriage. No further details were available regarding the reason for the breakup.
It was noted that the couple share two sons together, who are ages 13 and 16. Maines apparently hopes that she and Pasdar will be able to share joint custody of the children. Though it was noted that the divorce is apparently amicable, it was unclear whether any potential custody issues could arise during this case.
When children, considerable assets and years worth of emotional aspects of a relationship are involved in a divorce, the possibility exists for the situation to become complex. However, if individuals are able to work amicably together, they may be able to move forward effectively and efficiently to complete their legal proceedings as they see fit. New York residents may wish to speak with experienced attorneys to determine their options for making the most out of their circumstances.
